Sons & Daughters

For over 9 years I've been blessed with having children fill the void within my home.  With four children there is never a true silent moment during the day.  Between the homeschooling, video gaming, and the other endless activities, they seem to always have a way to fill the air with their noises.  Most of the sounds are pleasant, but occasionally the noises can cut right to my core, making the home environment very unpleasant.
I've often joked how I've waited for a instruction manual to arrive with each newly born child, but I've never been so lucky.  If not a book, at least a small pamphlet with some basic vital instructions would've been nice to help with the raising of each child, but again, nothing arrived.
I suppose waiting is actually a waste of time when it comes to raising children.  The 'how to' just seems to come, sometimes just at the right moment.  I mean, so far my children are doing pretty well...actually I'm pretty proud of each of them!  They know how to speak in a language that I can mostly understand, all know how to use the toliet...well, the youngest is still in training,  it for the most part they are all pretty self sufficient with the daily tasks that need to get done. So, I'm sastisfied.
My oldest only has 9 more years until he reaches the age of 18, which if you ask me is pretty scary. I have only that short amount of time before he'll have the choice to leave our nest and live his own life and I can only hope they he and the rest will make the best life decisions.  I believe this is every parents wish...they do better than their parents.
Well, that's my rant for the night...
